New Dog Registration
At Planet Bark, we require a New Dog Interview prior to any daycare or boarding stays to ensure your dog is comfortable in the playgroup. For dogs to attend Planet Bark, we require:
- Dogs must be at least 4 months old
- Dogs must be spayed/neutered once they are 7 months old
- Dogs must be dog-friendly AND human-friendly
- Dogs must have all required vaccines – Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and Canine Influenza.
- Dogs must have a recent negative fecal test result (updated annually)
- A copy of the Dog License from your city/town and your dog’s Rabies Certificate, which are required based on state regulations.
Scheduling Your Free Doggie Interview
If you would like to request a free New Dog Interview, please complete and submit the online form below AND forward us the following items via email (westhartford@planetbark.com) or fax (860-882-1551):
- Copy of a current Rabies Certificate
- Record of the following vaccines/information
- Distemper (might be listed as DHPP, DA2PP, etc.)
- Bordetella (might be listed as Kennel Cough)
- Canine Influenza (might be listed as CIV or H3N2/H3N8)***
- A recent Negative Fecal test result
- Copy of your Dog License
- Planet Bark New Dog Application (link below, or request a copy from us)
***Canine Influenza is NOT parainfluenza. Not all boarding facilities require canine influenza. Most vets give canine influenza only when the client requests it, so check your dog’s records to confirm the vaccine has been given.***
We schedule New Dog Interviews on Mondays – Thursdays. We cannot accommodate New Dog Interviews on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. The interview will be a full day of daycare; you can select a morning time for drop-off (8:00am, 8:30am, 9:00am, or 9:30 am) and you will pick-up in the afternoon. We only ask for approximately 10 minutes of your time at drop-off. PLEASE DO NOT PLAN TO DROP-OFF FOR THE INTERVIEW WITHOUT RECEIVING CONFIRMATION OF YOUR DAY/TIME!
